Web site offers wheelchair-accessible trails resource
For those seeking a directory of wheelchair-accessible trails in the Puget Sound area, a local website is a new resource. This site is maintained by Davey Schmidt, an Olympic Peninsula outdoor enthusiast. Schmidt recognized the need for the site when a series of injuries kept her from enjoying her usual hikes on foot. Schmidt explores the Pacific Northwest with the aid of a Pride Hurricane scooter and her comprehensive website lists accessible trails spanning from the Spokane River in eastern Washington to Umpqua Beach in southwestern Oregon. To access the list, go to www.accessibletrails.com. |
