Retail locations move

Seattle Raft and Kayak
    Seattle Raft and Kayak has recently acquired the assets of Swiftwater Sports in Shoreline, moving its retail store from Magnuson Park. SRK will continue to maintain its rental shop in its existing location on the shores of Magnuson Park.

Speedy Reedy
    Speedy Reedy Multisport and Tri-Supply in Seattle has moved across the street into larger headquarters. The nine-year-old triathlon shop is now located at 1300 N. Northlake Way, Seattle and retains Burke-Gilman Trail access at its back door. The nine-year-old business is owned by Reed and Brooke Sillers. (206) 632-9879, www.speedyreedy.com.

 

Bothell Ski and Bike
    After 20 years in its original location in Bothell, Bothell Ski and Bike moved 1-1/2 miles up the road to Kenmore and virtually doubled its space overnight to 5,000 square feet. Visible from the Burke-Gilman Trail, the store’s new headquarters are at 8020 N.E. Bothell Way, Kenmore.


    Owners John Ethen and Greg Pergament continue to offer a full sales and service store including family, kids, commuters, road and mountain bikes. Their Web site, www.bikesale.com, is unique in that it is one of four stores in the county that allows customers to order a bike online from the frame up. U.S. Women’s Tri Series takes hiatus;
Trek Women’s Series moves date


   The U.S. Women’s Triathlon Series, held for several years in Federal Way, will not return this September.


    A spokesperson for race organizer Capri Events, said, “Capri is hoping to bring the race back to Federal Way in 2010. The event company said they will continue the Series Oct. 3-4 in Las Vegas and Oct. 18 in San Diego.


    In other women’s triathlon news, the new Trek Women’s Series has moved its July 5 date to Sept. 19-20 at Genesee Park in south Seattle. The inaugural event date-change was due to recent City budget modifications and the necessary Seattle safety personnel required to support the event wasn’t available the July 4 weekend. Race distances half-mile swim, 12-mile bicycle ride and 3.1 mile run/walk. www.trekwomenstriathlonseries.com
