Take the Plunge

   When I first started swimming at the age of 5, the new blue-tinted world I found underwater made me wish for gills. After years of competing as a swimmer at various levels, I am still in awe of this foreign, liquid planet. Each time I dive into a pool, I can feel the tension of the day wash away in a reprieve for sanity. In those first few strokes, my stress dissolves and I feel at home in the water.
