The third annual NW Adventure Sports Festival June 9-10 in Port Gamble, Wash. will include mountain biking, trail running, kayaking, standup paddle boarding, scavenger hunts, a fun run and races for beginners to serious racers.

The main goals of NW Adventure Sports Festival are to bring together outdoor enthusiasts from different sports and to support healthy outdoor recreation for all ages. The Festival is an opportunity to try equipment, ask questions of the experts and learn about and try new things … and to just get outside and have some fun.

Highlights of the weekend include the Unleash the Beast and Mini-Beast Triathlon adventure races including trail running, paddling and mountain biking; the Paddle the Dragon 5k and 15k paddling race and Sunday morning’s 5k fun run. Demos, clinics and workshops are scheduled throughout the weekend with more than 20 vendors onsite.

Stop by and cheer on the Outdoors NW BEAST team, stop by their booth during the race and say hello and sign up to win prizes!

The Olympic Outdoor Center (OOC) is hosting the Festival. Spring Courtright, Festival and OOC Program Director, says, “We created this event to fill a gap. Many people are interested in multiple sports, but they don’t have a chance to try them out. Here kayakers can try standup paddle boarding, runners and mountain bikers can try kayaking, and everyone can get great deals on equipment.”
