Bike Rodeos Help Kids Learn Bike Skills
By Shannon Koller
Cascade Bicycle Club in Seattle hosts a series of bike rodeos throughout the year that teach bike skills to kids.
Commonly set up in a parking lot, school playground or other protected space, a bike rodeo is a series of teaching stations. It’s a perfect opportunity for kids to learn bike handling skills and traffic safety, such as scanning behind, dodging rocks, easing off curb ramps and using hand signals.
Join Cascade’s upcoming Bike Rodeo at the Health and Fitness Expo from 9 a.m. – noon, May 20 at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
Contact Shannon Koller, Senior Director of Education for Cascade Bicycle Club, at firstname.lastname@example.org to organize a bike rodeo in your community or to borrow Cascade’s equipment.
